Once you make this once, it will be a favorite. I just went online to search for bulk morels and found them through Oregon Mushrooms for $109/pound (this is fabulous compared to the almost $20 per ounce charged by most gourmet groceries. We have found that the sauce and mushrooms are far more exciting than the chicken and with this new source, can double the amount of mushrooms in the dish! (I am not affiliated with this company and have not yet seen the quality of the mushrooms but am optimistic. I've made the dish about a dozen times and it always gets rave reviews (like everything from Ina's collections.

I made this last night for my family, and could not have been happier with the results. We picked some fresh morels in the mountains and wanted to use them, and I knew to trust Ina when it came to testing recipes! : The chicken was moist and delicious, and the cream sauce was to die for. I had to make a couple of substitutions because of what I had in the fridge--I used sour cream and sherry, and also only used 4 chicken breasts instead of 6. I will make this again and again and again whenever I come across morels in the future. Thank you Ina!

I had this recipe at a friends and it has become my husbands favorite cold weather meal! The flavors in the sauce go together so perfectly - don't change or alter the recipe, other than double it!!!

Do not substitute for the morels, they make the dish unbelivable

I plan to make this for a friend and am wondering about making it ahead. Is it completely cooked and then reheated on top of stove? Bonnie

I made this exactly according to the recipe and won raves at a dinner party. I think perhaps I cooked the sauce down a little too much - not enough sauce for me - but I stretched it with additional heavy cream. Terrific with wild rice, angel hair or linguine pasta. This one will be on my menu often - thanks Ina!

No clue how I will top this dish at my next dinner party. It is so full of flavor, my guests were wowed beyond belief! I did not find it to be too pricey. Morels are available at a "reasonable" price on Ebay, and Madeira is not expensive at all at Trader Joes. Worth every dime as it was far cheaper than dining out...
I will make this time and time again!
    Thanks Ina!!!
