oh, YUMMY! Perfect combination of all these bold flavors! I just finished making them and next time I'll surely put parchment paper down first. I'm not sure I'll ever get all that goop cleaned off, but it sure was worth it! I mixed the nuts with all the ingredients with my hands and I suggest you lick your fingers and taste it. My chipotle was super spicy so I added a little more syrup and brown sugar. But that chipotle really gives it an amazing flavor, so it's really worth trying to find that stuff! And when they were done, I immediately transferred them to clean trays and stayed there for a couple of minutes and kept them moving till they were cooled. No sticking at all. I think I'll have to make another batch or two before the holidays are over!!!

My friend brought these to my house and they were outstanding; loved them so she gave me the recipe. When I made them, they were too hot and not sweet enough. I followed the recipe exactly and did not have problems with the nuts sticking together. Trying another batch today just to tweak it. I will p.s. this review.

Just finished the second batch. Instead of 1/3 cup of maple syrup, I used 1/2 cup. I reduced the amount of chipotle to 1 tsp and also reduced the salt by a tsp. They are much better. Can't wait for them to cool off. I think I have gained a few pounds testing these, but it was worth it.

The recipe was easy, however, the first time I made it, I wasn't thrilled with the overall taste of the nuts when they were finished. The temperature was too hot and the mixture subtly started to overcook. The second time I made the recipe, I set the oven at 275 degrees, cooked it a bit longer, and they came out nicely.

People loved them. I stirred while in the oven and every 5 minutes while cooling. I only used one baking sheet to mix, cook, and cool and it worked fine. I think stirring is the key to keeping them from sticking. I couldn't find chipotle so I substituted cayene pepper.

Love these nuts! I have a picky foodie sister, and she asked for the recipe! Thanks Ina!

If I could give this 10 stars I would. I made this for a Christmas pot-luck lunch. It was the star dish. One man took a bowl full to take home. Everyone wanted the recipe and I told them to look for it in the Barefoot Contessa recipes. I got home from work. I had save some for my family. My husband didn't even say hello...he said, "Mar...this one's a keeper."

These nuts are amazing! I took the suggestion of transferring the freshly baked nuts to a 2nd cookie sheet, to avoid them ALL sticking together. I also tossed them quite often, once they were out of the oven (until they were completely cooled. Because of that, I had NO problems with them being overly sticky. I made these for Christmas gifts, although I'm not sure there will be any left to gift. I can't stop eating them!!!

The nuts have a good flavor but I used only 1 more Tablespoon of rosemary after I pulled them from the oven. I think 2T would have been to much for my taste but I did mince the rosemary very well. I think I will add 1 more Tablespoon of orange juice when I make them again. When they came out the oven I stirred them breaking up any larger pieces for several minutes. I followed another reviewers suggestion and transferred the nuts to another lightly oiled cookie and stirred them more and by then you could handle them by hand. No issues with them sticking together. Cooled perfectly.

The nuts taste really good, a great mix of smoky and sweet, BUT I can not keep them from sticking together. Even after waiting until they are completely cooled when I stored them they stuck together like a brick. I had to break and pull them apart one by one to serve them the next day. Taste is Great, sticking together is a problem. Do they have to much coating?
