This recipe made a lot of frosting and was a bit time consuming, but I am happy with the taste and texture. Next time I will have to scale down and find a way to conserve some of this frosting.

dissapointed in this... I did exactly what the instructions and video did, and it hardly wiped, was bitter, and it wouldn't get very fluffy in the mixer, but I still put it on the cake, because it was a very sweet cake, and it kinda harden and grainy... huh. :P

This frosting is more deli unique than everyday homemade. It looks like meringue before you bake it, just chocolate. Very shiney and wet looking. I am using on an air like white cake. The cake is sweeter than the frosting (which is very rich and buttery. It will be a perfect match. I would not use this on yellow cake or box mix. For that I would use a butter and powdered sugar frosting.

Yum! Just made this for my B/F for his birthday. He likes strawberry cake with chocolate frosting. He will be very Happy! I left out espresso and rum since I didn't have any. It's still fabulous! It is a little time consuming but not hard, and it is worth it!

Just WOW! This frosting is like Ina Garten personally placed a spoonful of heaven into my mouth! I'd eat this frosting barefoot OR with shoes on. It's just so amazing. First, when the silky buttery yummy frosty frosting enters your feeding hole, it's like an explosion of flavors. After the espresso-y and creamy flavor dissipates, it's time for the real fun! A rich, smooth texture/flavor causes an KABOOM of madness. Just madness. Flying around your mouth. At this moment, I am eating this heavenly creation. I made cupcakes to put it on...but let's just say the frosting hasn't made it on to the cupcakes yet! HEHE! My wife says I'm silly for wasting the cupcakes like that, but those box cupcakes can have box frosting! All of this delicious homemade frosting is just pour moi! I hope my review helped everybody! I'm sure ALL of you will enjoy this tantalizing wonder of a treat!

I normally do not like buttercream frosting, but this is on an entirely different level of frosting. Just some thoughts:
1. Lots of steps involved but nothing complicated. It's also very satisfying to create somthing this good.
2. It makes alot of frosting. I had enough for a 2 layer cake, 2 dozen cupcakes and there was still lots leftover. I had refrigerated the frosting for 2 days, left it out to get to room temperature, stirred, then frosted. It was great.
3. The frosting tastes better the 2nd day
Don't let the recipe scare you from making this. It's the ultimate gift of love to the chocoholic.
