Not caring for milk chocolate, I used dark chocolate, to make these for my husband for valentines day.
We both loved them, so much I made a few the next night. Halve the recipe for portion control. Makes a great chocolate treat without all the sugar (and other stuff you get in chocolate candy.
I placed on plastic wrap the second night, because they stuck to the parchment paper. Forget the toothpick, just dip from the green top of the strawberry.
I prefer this recipe calling for heavy cream, because the use of heavy cream keeps the chocolate from cracking and breaking off the fruit when you bite into them.
Turn this into an icecream (cake, etc. topping by adding an additional tablespoon of cream to the 1/2 cup of chocolate.

These were a big hit at the baby shower I helped organize. Be careful, though; the recipe doesn't tell you to chill your strawberries to set the chocolate, but if you're making them in the height of summer like I was, this is an absolute must. Even half an hour will really help to set them! I left to dry overnight on parchment paper on my kitchen counter and they were still liquidy the next day.
I found they melted quite quickly afterward as well, although that could just have been the temperature of the room?
Really delicious though - good flavour, really easy to make, and they look really pretty =
