This is delish! I tried it once with dark chocolate because it was on sale, but I wouldn't do it again, stick with semi-sweet. I also once tried to dip it ahead of time and let the strawberries set in the fridge, but the chocolate never really hardened so I would stick with dipping as you eat it. The coffee and zest really make it great!

Saw this on the show today (12/30/10 and can't wait to make it. Feel a New Year's Eve treat coming on ~ since strawberries are not in season in NC, will try kiwi, fresh pineapple, apple, orange. As for jratliff3_11700568, what difference does it make who Ina cooks for. I do believe the comment board is for the recipe, not the program.

this is perfect with almost anything dunked in it---any berry, pieces of pound cake or biscotti, bits of lady finger (or even your own finger, plain wafer cookies, slices if dried fruits. as usual, ina produces great recipe.

My Husband and I had this for our Valentine's Day dessert. The hardest part of the recipe is chopping the chocolate, it's really easy. I just love the combo of chocolate with the Grand Marnier. We also used rolled up cookies for dipping along with the strawberries. You could dip anything into this, it's that good. I didn't find her brand of chocolate so I used Baker's semi sweet chocolate and it was still delicious.

My husband and I had a date night "in" and cooked dinner. While he was preparing the filets, I quickly made this chocolate sauce for large fresh strawberries for dessert! It was fabulous! I don't care for coffee, so I was hesitant, but Ina was right, you can't taste it, but it does inhance the flavor o the chocolate. We dipped the strawberries and didn't have the "waxy" taste you get in the store. My only concern was the fat content when using whipping cream, but Iguess you have to splurge sometime... Definately a "keeper"!
