Love Ina and constantly make her recipes. These were a hit! Made 18 cupcakes. I used the 1 and a third cups of Hershey's syrup (live in Australia, I got from an American shop and they worked well. They are fudgey and yummy and do need to cool completely before icing. Took about 7 minutes to make and 30 to bake. Will definitely make again and not bitter. I also added half a teaspoon of coffee to the mixture as Ina often suggests this. Enjoy!

I like that these are extremely easy and quick. They are definitely for a big time chocolate lover. I like a rich chocolate flavor but these have a bitter quality that a dark chocolate lover would enjoy. Not a favorite in my house. A personal choice. Give them a try if you like pure dark chocolate. I would possibly try again but I would add sugar to ganache.

We saw Ina make these on TV last week. They are amazing! I don't usually like cupcakes, but these were more than cupcakes. They were like giant pieces of dark chocolate candy. My husband said, "I've never had anything like them" and my mom and I agreed that they reminded us of a flourless chocolate torte. I had enough extra for three extra cupcakes. I usually just eat the frosting off cupcakes and throw the rest away. Not these! The "cake" part was my favorite. Certainly not typical for me.
They are anything but too sweet. Ignore those reviews. Also, ignore the reviews that say they are too dense. They are obviously not experienced bakers. All you have to do is look at the ingredients. Any recipe that calls for an entire can of chocolate syrup and only I cup of flour- come on! It's going to be heavy.....and yummy. :

I saw Ina do the show the other day and decided to give them a try. After I bought the syrup, I read some of the reviews and reading the negative ones, I almost didn't make them. What a mistake I would have made. They were delicious warm and cool and with out the topping. I just made the ganache, haven't try one with. I used semi-sweet chips, perhaps milk chocolate chips would be another way to go. I did mix the butter, sugar and eggs for some time, then added the vanilla and flour. Just mixed enough to mix it in. Made more than 12 cupcakes, I had some left over for a 4" pan. Tasty!!! I'm sure they are calorie free, not.

These are amazing cupcakes. I have made them for several years, but I make the smaller version for bite-size yum! (bake only 15-16 minutes for 48. My neighbors beg me to make these and they are always a hit wherever I take them. Trust Ina, don't over mix them when adding the flour.

this is soooooo good! i like the texture, it's not fluffly, it's more like cake. i made them yesterday, and had 7 cupcakes within 4 hours! the ganache is too much for the cupccakes, next time will only make half the amount.

I really enjoyed them. Although I didn't have the ingredience to make the ganache and I wanted to make a buttercream so I could color it and have fun decorating it. I Really enjoyed these cupcakes and I'm printing this recipe out to put in my cook book! I recommend these highly. I was suspicious to do this because of the reviews but if you have a non-chocolate cupcake frosting they are to die for! Ignore all the *BAD* revews and TRY THEM!!! they are delicious! I give a 4 due to the fact that I don't know how the ganche is! THANKS for reading my review! very moist!!!:

honestly, these were like protein muffins, not chocolate cupcakes! they were too dense, and after only a few bites I was full. the flavor was not chocolaty enough at all, just really sugary and my ganache was too watery, but that's probably because I trusted my brother on the quantities and messed the recipe up :.
