I have been making the cake part of this recipe for over 30 years--but in a 9 X 13 pan and served as a "brownie". Was watching the show today and when I saw the recipe I couldn't believe it! Though the icing I make is different, I gave this 5 stars because I know how good the cake part is and I have always garnered rave reviews whenever I have served it. I can't wait to try this as a cupcake (never thought of it with Ina's ganache-it's gotta be good!!.

These are absolutely scrumptious! I used a scant tsp. instant coffee in the ganache. The tip to use instant coffee granules in chocolate gives it a remarkable taste, yet not particularly coffee flavored. (Ina, you are such a lovely lady with a lovely personality!

I DOUBLED THE CUPCAKE RECIPE AND MADE A CAKE IN A 13X9 PAN.I MADE TWO LAYERS AND PUT MY CHOCOLATE PUDDING ICING IN THE CENTER AND AFTER DINNER MADE THE GANACHE AND POURED OVER THE CAKE AND SERVED WARM. GUESTS LOVED IT AND ALL LEARNED ABOUT GANACHE THAT DAY.WONDERFUL ALTERNATIVE TO THE BOXED CAKE MIXES THAT ARE LOADED WITH HYDROGENATED OILSPLAN TO MAKE THIS ONE AGAIN!

These cupcakes are so dense that they are little individual cakes (not the light cupcake you would expect. I dipped my cakes twice in the ganache and they turned out perfectly. EVERYONE loved them and I will definatly make them again. Serve with a dollup of whipped cream - a must!

I just made these and tried one. This is the best cupcake I've ever had!!! It was so easy! I've never left the review before but this time I had to since it was so good!

These cupcakes are dense and delicious. I found the flowers at a nearby cake supply store. They made a beautiful presentation. Ina you're the best! Thank you.
