    These cup cakes were fantastic. An easy dessert to prepare but looked like they took so much more effort than they did . I loved the coffee in the cake batter , it added just they right touch. Chocoholics prepare ! I love Ina Garten recipes , I have never tried one I didn't enjoy . She is truly a chef .

    These cupcakes are delicious. I did not find them to be too dense. Coffee adds just the "right touch" to make them over the top. The ganache is not too heavy. They are a beautiful addition to a quiet supper when you need a show stopper. A cup of coffee along with the cupcake finishes off the meal. Everyone loved them.

    I'm glad I read the reviews so I knew what to expect. A "heavy" cupcake but very good and easy to make. The paper cupcake wrappers were very greasy/wet so didn't make for a good presentation when bringing to my neighbors house. It all depends on what you like. If you are a chocolate lover then these will hit the spot.

    Loved these cupcakes...BUT, loved them even more when I used Hershey's Special Dark Syrup instead. Much deeper chocolate flavor, and they didn't have that 'hershey syrup' taste. Moist and delicious...best chocolate cupcake I ever made, and I've made a LOT of cupcakes!!!

    These cupcakes were horrible! Way too dense and the Ganache was WAY too rich for this cupcake. I prefer a more cake-like cupcake, these were far from it.

    Disclaimer: These cupcakes, as Ina Garten herself explained, do not contain any leavening ingredient, and therefore do not rise to what some might call "normal" cake consistency. Personally, this is why I enjoy these cupcakes so much.

    The only adaptation I would make to this recipe is the addition of salt, as the cake and ganache are very sweet and adding salt would cut the slightly overwhelming sweetness.

    Finally, it is worth noting that as an avid baker, from this moment on, I will never not pair chocolate baked goods with a little coffee. It really does make a difference.

    The flavor was really nice, but they didn't have a traditional cupcake consistency. They were quite dense and tasted like a brownie, not a cupcake.
