Hershey's chocolate syrup is hard to find in England but got hold of some and then there was no stopping me! These are lovely and soft moist cupcakes that are different from my usual vanilla cupcakes that I just add cocoa powder to. The mix made slightly more than 12 and I was using the large muffin pan and cases but more for the cook! The coffee just adds that special something that you can't tell what it is but it is amazing!

Easiest and greatest cupcake ever! If you like chocolate of course and are not a fan of the fluffy frosting that's usually on top of one. I love how they pop right out of the cupcake pan (you do need to fill them pretty close. I will admit that its more like a brownie or cake 'denseness' but that's why they're awesome!!! I also made some with gluten free flour. I only wanted a few so I cut the recipe in half, but forgot about cutting the chocolate in half and used the full amount...BUT, they were still AMAZING (of course, it had twice the chocolate. They were definitely more moist but not runny or anything AT ALL! Don't over beat.
Oh and if you don't like chocolate or genache and like those fakeness cupcakes with that super sweet aired frosting premade in grocery stores then GO BUY THEM and DONT MAKE THESE! To all my true chocolate fans..proceed..

Very Disappointed. After all the reviews I thought this was a no-brainer for success. I had a party to go to, so I decided to double the recipe. I feel quite experienced, in terms of baking, but was sorely disappointed in how these turned out in comparison to the reviews. The ganache topping was the best part. Nothing to brag about on the cupcake. Had way more than 24 cupcakes, yet followed the recipe to a "T". So not sure what went wrong. Wish i hadn't doubled the ganache as had way more of that than I needed to. Nothing to brag about on this one.

It's an awesome recipe, my husband was crazy about this cupcakes!!. The only "weird" thing that happened to me is that I only had 10 cupcakes and I followed exactly the recipe...anyways they were very moist and delicious! Thank you Ina!

Fantastic. I am new to baking and you have certainly made my introduction to baked goodies "sweet". These cupcakes were so moist and silky and the ganache - wow. I made them on Halloween and they were an absolute hit. Thanks, Ina. You're the best

Absolutely wonderful cupcakes! Children and adults both loved them. Wouldn't change a thing except to increase the batter amount. They disappeared quickly. They are the "other" desert on my Thanksgiving menu this year. Once again Ina pulled it off. Thanks for all your recipes Ina Garten.

Just Wonderful! Moist (watch them in the oven, take them out when JUST set and delicious. The ganache helps add even more elegance! Travel well and always a crowd pleaser. I make little sugar flowers out of a stiff royal icing to decorate the top to bring a bit of color and customize for the occassion.
    As always, thanks Ina.

Love Ina but not these cupcakes. They were very dense, had a strange texture and not super chocolately like I expected from all that chocolate syrup. Ganache was good and necessary to give it flavor. Sorry Ina. Not a keeper!

Not sure what all the other readers issues were but these turned out great for me! I made 24 mini cupcakes and then 6 regular sized with the batter. They turned out quite dense, but moist and delicious! I did half the instant coffee in the batter and omit it from the ganache because I am not a huge coffee fan. They do have a less sweet more grown taste which may be why some of the other reviewers said their kids didn't like them. Very easy to frost and very delicious! Will defiantly be making them again!

Love these cupcakes. They are beautiful as well as tasty. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but I tried them anyway. So glad that I did. They are so moist and lots of flavor. These aren't your typical cupcakes. These are cupcakes that you bring out for a "wow" moment.
