I tried to make these for my husband to go with his steak. The only problem was that they were so good that I never got them into the oven or onto his plate. He stood next to the stove and ate them as soon as I set them down! We will definitely be making these again.

These onion rings were absolutely delcious. Even my picky children who likes nothing ate them and asked for more. They were so good everyone was trying to take some off the other's plate. LOL. My family want me to make them again tonight.

These had delicious flavor. But, I personally had trouble getting both the onions I used coated with just 2 cups of buttermilk so I used more and added more pepper. I also added more flour to the dry mix, more cornmeal, and more pepper. I cooked them exactly as Ina did and let them crisp in the oven. They were so good. If you are cooking them for 1-3 people honestly, one onion is enough. If you are cooking for 3-5 people then use another onion. The onions I used were large and when you slice them and then separate the rings it was plenty.

My husband made these tonight and they are excellent! Better than any I've ever had. So easy to make, too. Not sure why they were rated intermediate. This one is definitely a keeper!

Living in the lard fried capital of the world, these are mighty fine. Simple but addictive. Make sure you keep the oven on as ANY onion rings tend to get cold IMMEDIATELY if not served right out of the oil. Shoot, I'll have "kissin' cousins" beating down my door for ANYTHING served with these gems. PS......Ina is the one Food Network Chef (and Bobby Flay that have not got the huge ego associated with being successful....OOPS Mario Batali falls in there too. If the others have forgotten that food is something to be enjoyed rather than entertained by, the future is bright.

These onion rings were the best I've ever tasted. My sister is not a fan of onions, and agreed that they were very good and full of flavor. I took Ina's advice and let the onions soak in the buttermilk for a few hours, and it was a crowd pleasers. Thanks Ina, you're my favorite...

These were amazing....we were very pleased! They came out crunchy and light. I only made one large onion for two of us and there was more than I knew what to do with. We are big eaters and one large onion would have just been way too much~

I have made these onion rings on 2 separate occasions since the steak episode aired and they are amazing! I make them in a deep fryer and add Cajun seasoning to the flour/ cornmeal mixture. They stand up really well in a 200 or 225 degree oven while making batch after batch. I don't think I can order onion rings out at a steak house ever again because I'm spoiled by Ina's! Her herb butter also rocks, I give it away as gifts to my foodie friends.
