I love Ina's show and she has many great recipes. I was disappointed in this one. Although I love the vegetables in here, the cakes were too wet. I love a GREAT crab cake, but this was an okay one.

These crab cakes taste very good, but they don't look like traditional crab cakes. They don't have that crusty outside to it. Infact I added more bread crumbs to try to get the effect but I didn't want to risk ruining the recipe. They take a while to make because you have to saute the vegetables until tender. I would prefer a quicker version. The taste factor is very much there, though. The contessa must be doing something that I am missing when preparing because it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.

Made these for my husband and he will never be ordering crab cakes from a restaurant again. I did take advice from another poster and increased the hot sauce and mustard. SUPERB!!

Wow! These are delicious! We doubled the recipe and froze some of the uncooked cakes. They are a meal in itself! Thanks Ina for another wonderful recipe!

These were absolutely the WORST crab cakes I've EVER had! They were so wet, even after refrigeration, would not stay together during cooking - and just simply had too many things in them, (didn't need all the veggies - too many flavors going on here YUCK!

I have loved Ina's receipes....however, I've been born in Delaware, where crab cakes were all crab, little breading, little seasoning, all crab. This was too wet,too much liqud, much vegeies, too little crab. Liked your seasoning, will try alain with my mother's crab cakes with your seasonings. I alwalys love a good crab cake. PS since moving to Texas, they don't know how to do Sea Food. Especelly Crab Cakes, always tooooo much bread. (Trying to sretch a dollar, in restausrants, un heard uf.

First, these crab cakes are fabulous. Regarding negative reviews which claim there is not enough crab, I disagree. These are called "Crab cakes," not "Maryland Crab Cakes." The flavors in these are delicious and I can still definitely taste the crab.
Second, does anyone know how to write Ina a fan email or letter (what address, etc? I have been trying to figure it out. Her show is, hands down, my favorite. My 2-year-old also loves watching her. She is GLUED to the TV when Ina is on and cries when the show is over.
So does anyone know how to do this? I'd just like to let her know how much we enjoy her.

I doubled the recipe and added all the eggs without thinking about how wet it would be.The vegatables were too big ( so cut them micro fine and they completely fell apart in the frying pan. Some were better because I rolled them in flour first. Luckily, I made them before my guests arrived and refridgerated them. I reformed the cakes and baked them for 30 minutes at 250 and 10 min at 400 and they were saved. My guests raved about them so you never know.
