My guests called this dish "gourmet food" because they loved it so much. I added a bit more sugar than the recipe called for because cranberries can be too tart for some. It was a great dish. Thanks Ina, once again!

This is the best cranberry recipe I've ever made-------so easy, so delicious, & exciting to see the way it jelled, as Ina said, due to the pectin in the apples-----another cooking first for me! Love the ratio of tart to sweet, the crunch of pecans, & chewyness of the raisins----like others stated, will accompany pork & chicken all year long! Ina, you & Emeril are the best----the new book is delightful also!

Best cranberry sauce I've ever had. I made it for Thanksgiving and will make it every year from here on! I was nervous at first because it took a little longer to cook than expected but everything turned out great in the end.

This makes the most wonderful cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. It is flavorful and sweet while also retaining the tartness of the cranberries and the apples. And it is absolutely EASY to make. A true winner!

EXCELLENT!!! It is not only delicious, but easy to make. My husband who doesn't cook, makes this every Thanksgiving & Christmas. It makes a lot for two, so I freeze what we don't eat to serve during the year. It freezes very well.
I am an avid fan and watch your show daily.
Thanks Ina! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Jeffrey.

The Barefoot Contessa's recipe Cranberry Fruit Compote is phenominal! It's a perfect replacement for canned cranberry "sauce" because it tastes better and it's very easy to make. This recipe presents the full-bodied flavor of the cranberry without being bitter. It's exactly the way you imagine cranberry "sauce" should taste. Yet it's so easy to prepare! I was always afraid to try making my own cranberries for holiday feasts because the recipes seemed to complicated or just didn't look like they would taste good. But this one is delicious and easier than making gravy. Try it!

I made this wonderful relish last year. Everyone that tried it just loved it, even those that previously did not like cranberry relish. As a result I have this recipe to three of my friends and it is a staple at the holidays. It is super easy to make and is a great side dish for many kinds of meat.
