I agree with some reviewers that this is too salty...maybe it was to balance the sweet glaze which I didn't make...I liked the flakiness though...although it didn't rise as much as hers did which lead me to believe I might have over-mixed the butter and flour..will try again some other time with less salt...

Not so great...too flakey. Could have used twice as many cranberries. Couldn't taste the orange.

I'm sure it's just the style, but setting that aside, the taste and texture was cheap.

Wow. Ina's recipes are usually spot on and so yummy but these missed the mark. Too much salt. Too much baking powder = metalic taste. Not flavorfull and the texture is wrong. They taste more like biscuits. I'm soo disappointed. I usually love her recipes. I really don't understand all the good ratings, especially since my results are the same as, or similar, to many other people's results. Oh well, I'm off to find a good scone recipe now.

The scones were great! I used a smaller cookie cutter and got around 36 smaller scones. I took them into work for a brunch - not even a crumb left!!!! I will definitely make these again!

These were more like biscuits than scones. I enjoyed the taste. I put orange juice in the egg mixture instead of putting orange zest. The icing was great as well. i divided the recipe in half and still had left overs. I will make this again and try different fruits

DELICIOUS MORSELS!!! I tried this recipe in January and saved some of the dough. It was scrumptious, great smell for the house, great texture and taste, WoW!!

Two weekends ago I used the second portion of the dough, they tasted even better (tried them with a touch of fig & caramel spread. I shared the scones and the recipe with my sister and niece; got rave reviews about the texture and flavor.

These scones are great, DO NOT deviate from the recipe! I'm making more this morning and I will be adding this tasty morsel to my yearly easter basket gifts.

Thanks Ina, love your recipes and love watching you cook!!!

HELP!!! Gosh, I don't feel right rating this recipe, because I have no idea what happened! I followed the recipe to a T (I've made scones successfully before, so I kinda know what I'm doing... and they came out looking gorgeous - BUT, had a weird metallic, burned taste....ew! The ONLY modification I made, which I do when making scones, is that I used turbinado sugar for sprinkling instead of granulated. Please note, the scones were golden brown - there wasn't any burned parts whatsoever. I did take them out of the oven at 17 mins instead of 20-25, too. Please let me know what could have caused this off-taste! (I also didn't use the pithy part in my zest, I'm certain of this too.

Super delicious, creamy with texture like a muffin really. Super easy to make. The dough as absolutely perfect and formed great, didn't have to add a thing.

I make these all the time. I love them hot out of the oven with glaze. I make them at night, refrigerate them until morning then bake & bring to work for everyone. The butter has to be cold!! to psambaer-yes I do that all the time!!
