These melt in your mouth! I made these for a women's gathering this morning and everyone raved about them. I live in Central America and can not find heavy cream so I used a whipping cream and added a little milk to it and they turned out beautifully. Everyone was asking for the recipe.

I rarely bake from scratch (I prefer the grill but one morning I was n the mood for something different and found this recipe on foodtv.com. WOW! These scones taste as good or better than the bakery bought varieties (I suppose anything with this much butter in it has to be good I've had AND they are very easy to make. One word of caution though... My dough was a little "wet" at first and the sprinkling of flower didn't seem to help much. I had to call my wife for advise. She said just keep on sprinkling flower on the dough until it tightens up. That's what I did and they turned out great!

I made these over Christmas to have for my overnight guests. They were gone before they were even cooled completely. This is an excellent recipe and well worth the trouble to roll the dough, cut the scones, etc.

The first time I made these I thought they were good but the orange didn't come through the way I thought it should. The second time I cut the salt in half, added about one tablespoon more sugar, and tripled the amount of orange zest. They were exactly what I was looking for. Also, these freeze wonderfully in a Ziploc bag between layers of waxed paper. Just take them out and pop them in the oven on Sunday morning and enjoy with a nice cup of coffee or tea!

A friend dropped a package of these off on my doorstep last night as a New Years' gift. I love scones, but homemade ones are usually either too sweet or too dry. These were fabulous! We ate them all up by the next morning. When I saw her, I asked for the recipe and she directed me to the Food Network website. Can't wait to make my own batch!

I made these for my family for Christmas morning. They were absolutely delicious! Also, they reheat in the microwave so well. Will make them again and again!!!

I've made this recipe twice now - with RAVE reviews both times! For those of you who'd like to cut back a little on the fat: I accidentally used 3/4 CUP (1 1/2 sticks of butter the first time instead of the 3/4 POUND (3 sticks called for and they were still delicious! The second time I added a little more sugar to the batter and used 2 sticks of butter (still one less than called for in the recipe. One guy told me that these were the best scones he'd EVER had - bar none! I also made the batter two days ahead and refrigerated them with no ill effects to the taste/quality. Excellent recipe - definitely a keeper!

I've made cranberry scones many time, but this is the best recipe yet! I made these on Christmas eve and used fresh cranberries. They rise beautifully and taste delicious! The recipe is easy and makes plenty of scones to share with friends/neighbors. I'm sure I will continue to use this recipe and substitute other fruits. Thank you, Ina! You're the best!
