I made this for a get-together and everyone kept asking who made it. My seven year old helped by patting dry the cucumbers and onions and wanted me to write a review that it was not only tasty but "fun for kids to help." I loved how the cucumbers stayed crispy, even a day later. Several friends left with little rubbermaid containers of it, so it really was a hit!

I love tzatziki and Ina's recipes, so I was surprised that I really don't like this recipe. There's way too much yogurt and sour cream in this dish, and those ingredients overpower the dish so much that they make it bland. I did use non-fat yogurt and reduced fat sour cream, but that's not the problem. I added extra lemon juice, vinegar, salt and pepper in an attempt to perk up the dish, but no luck yet. I'll try the garlic idea with what's left over and see if that helps.

My husband and I love this salad. It's cool and refreshing, perfect for a summer meal. I used low fat yogurt and it was still delicious and creamy. There was a bit too much dressing for my taste, so next time I'll probably reduce it by about 1/3. I also think the dressing would be great for dipping crudites.

I love this salad. The dressing is great. I took Mike's advice & added garlic. My son said he would like it better if the cucumber was sliced thicker and was more
crisp. I gave it 5 stars because I like it as is. Thanks for another great recipe!

I followed the recipe, but cut it in half. It seemed to be too much dressing for the cucumbers for my taste. It also seemed rather salt. I would rinse the cucumbers and then pat dry before assembling the salad.

I tried this with cucumbers from my backyard garden and it was fantastic. I had about 3 pounds of cucumbers and found that there was a lot of dressing for that amount, but the recipe said 3 to 4 pounds, so next time I'll use 4 pounds. Very tasty, a nice bite from the red onion -- this one's a keeper. Thank you, Ina!

My Mom made this when I was a kid. I have been making it as well. It's always a hit. Also great in Summer. Only one thing is missing, that is some garlic. Thanks Ina!

Tried the recipe with regular then English cucumbers. With each, we tried as recipe states..."slice thin"...then we tried seedless, peeled and cut in cubes. The English cucumber won (texture. The flavor of recipe was enjoyed by everyone. Thanks Ina.
