My 17 year old daughter makes this recipe. She even got a blow torch for Christmas. This summer when we were on vacation she ordered creme brulee several nights when we ate out at different restaurants. None of us thought the restaurant creme brulees were as good as Ina's recipe.
Here's the funniest part: this is the only thing my 17 year old knows how to cook.
This is a wonderful recipe.

I made these creme brulees and took them on a pontoon party for a dessert following dinner ~ we torched the brulees right on the pontoon! (kept metal tray underneath, of course. I tossed a few fresh blueberries on top. Everyone LOVED the live cooking show, and raved over the final results!

I use Ina's recipe every year for family and friends Christmas parties. Last year there were 39 at the party so i have to make multiple batches. Everyone agrees that this is the best recipe I have used. Thanks Ina!

Use this recipe! I made this for my moms birthday, and she raved about it! Best creme brulee i've had... even better than the ones we make at the restaurant I work at.

Like all of Ina's recipes that I've tried, the end result was exactly as promised. Delicious. My family loved it (even my sons, who weren't sure they even liked creme brulee.

Took this dessert to a friends dinner party. A huge hit, everyone loved it.
I was surprised that granulated sugar could be used and not demura, or natural sugar. I love 'Gran Marnier' so I added a bit more. This is also very simple to make.

This creme brulee was so amazing! It was the first time I have ever made creme brulee and now I am obsessed! Unfortunately I was unaware that the blow torch I was going to use that I got for Christmas needed the gas fluid to go inside it...so I had to use the broiler in my oven. It turned out great! The Grand Marnier was a subtle background flavor that was so delicious. Thanks Ina for the awesome recipe! PS I am an aspiring 17 year old baker...look for my bakery, Sweet Caroline's in the near future!!!!
