Eating these was like a little trip to France- They were yummy cheesy and mine came out soft. I didn't notice them as salty.

Last night was a rainy night so we made the Croque Monsieur and home made tomato soup. It was the best, The cheese sauce was rich and salty, which I love along with the ham and mustard all the flavors melded and it all worked excellently. God Bless Ina!

These sandwiches were very easy to make. I didn't make all of them at once. I was glad to see the cheesy sauce is easy to reheat. My husband loved them. I will make these again. Thanks for providing such an easy recipe Ina !!! Now I can save my money and not have to buy them at La Madeline.

Way cheaper than flying to France! This cheesy sandwich will transport directly to the sidewalk cafes of Paris. It's quite easy and quick to prepare too.

I had all ingredients on hand, but cut
the recipe in half while still using the
pinch of nutmeg. The aroma and taste are
sensational!! Be mindful of the broiler
time. These brown very quickly.
