    I made this pie two hours ago."IT WAS GREAT" when you bake or cook you should all ways taste your food first. To ever body who didn't like it..Try it again and taste your pie filling:

    Crust is flaky like Mom's. Apples do not drop leaving a half full pie stay firm and have a perfect mix of flavors.

    The pie looked beautiful and tasted AWFUL! The apple slices turned to mush. The lemon overpowered the pie. It was terrible.

    I have made this pie over and over. It is delicious and is met with only oooohs and aaaahhhhs from my guests! I did not experience the "too much citrus" problems that others have written about. This is absolutely fabulous and I will never need another apple pie recipe because this one is IT!

    As an apple pie lover, I was severely disappointed! The orange and lemon juices completely took over the pie. The pie looked gorgeous, the apple ratio was perfect but the juices were overpowering! I was looking for an apple pie with just a hint of citrus, this was definitely not the case.

    The pie looked beautiful. The taste was so tart that not one person at our Thanksgiving table could eat it! I tried, believe me. After all my work I did so want it to come out great. It was a disaster.

    I have made this pie 4 times, today will be my 5th... it has NEVER turned our wrong, bitter, too lemoney or anything but GREAT! If you didn't get a chance to watch the show for her to make it.... she say's to taste your apples, if they are too bitter you will need to add a lil more sugar to them so they are NOT bitter. This pie has turned people in my family who don't like pie, to loving it! I get asked to make it so maybe your not making it write?

    For all of the people that din't like this pie.... You are crazy! Just made it for a dinner party and everyone could not stop talking about it. I made a few changes though. I did half granny and half fuji apples. I also added about 2 tbls of brown sugar. Came out great and will definetly be making it for Thanksgiving.

    When I saw Ina make this on her show I could not wait to make it at home. I bought all the ingredients and made it for my husband and myself as soon as I got home. First of all, I agree with the other reviewers - there is WAY too much citrus juice in this pie. The lemon overpowered the apples big time. The crust however was absolutely delicious and will use the recipe for the crust in my own pie recipe later. I would also make sure to put foil after fluting the edges as they tend to burn...I set my smoke alarm off! So - great crust, crap filling.
