    I have never made gelato before but we do love chocolate. I wasn't sure until it came out of the freezer bowl into the container for storing, but once my husband and I tasted it, were amazed. It comes out creamy and delicious. Not sweet. Sooo satisfying. Worth the work for sure. Thank you Ina for another winner recipe.

    This was fantastic! My family just raved, very rish, dark choc. flavor.
    I did find it took longer to simmer until proper temp for thickness but well worth the time

    This was my first try at gelato and what an outstanding recipe to start with. I used chocolate I had on hand which was Hershey's regular unsweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of Nestle's Chocolatier special dark premium baking chocolate. Slightly reduced the amount of sugar. Did not use the extra candies. It's sooooooo rich and yummy!!!

    Smoooooth and creamy, extremely rich!! If you do not like a deeply rich chocolate flavor, I would suggest decreasing the cocoa by about 1/4 cup or so, and maybe only 1 oz. of chocolate. I tried it with milk chocolate too, they are both great, depending on what you like!
