We really enjoyed this. It was done at 50 mins, and I served it with vanilla ice cream about an hour after taking it out of the oven. Very tasty and easy!

This is easy and delicious. I have made this a few times now. My family really likes it.
I do add another apple and I use almond flour instead of the flour in this recipe (to make it gluten free. I also use a little less sugar in topping as well as filling. Just a personal preference. Will be making often.

I have made this twice. The second time, I improved it for my taste buds by using about 3/4 of the cranberries, 1 1/2 apples, and extra white sugar in the fruit mixture. Extra vanilla in the cake topping and I found it delicious.Served with vanilla ice cream.

Very easy and great flavor. Good looking cake that gets even better next day. Be aware, depending on the cranberries, this can be very tart. I made three times and the tartness was a bit different each time which I like. If too tart, tone down with a dollop of sweet creme or vanilla ice cream. Ina would be proud of that move.

Also, be mindful of orange zest can be strong so again depending on what orange you use.

This was good. I baked it a day ahead and it still served well. The cake itself was very moist. The only complaint I have is that the tartness of the cranberries was only slightly balanced by the apple (I used a Fuji because I was afraid a Granny Smith would totally kill any sweetness, so I made a simple vanilla glaze with powdered sugar, orange juice and milk. With the glaze, this was a 5 star recipe!

It is delicious! I followed the recipes exactly. I dont know why people are complaining about the tartness and cobbler like.I used a 9in Pyrex Deep pie dish. Looks pretty. I served with an option of freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

    Is easy and delicious.
Especially for Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas, your guests will not forget this dessert.
If you can not find fresh cranberries, you can do it with frozen fruit, such as strawberries, bluberries, rasberries and fresh apple. That's what I did because in my country,(Dominican Republic we dont have fresh cranberries.

I love cranberries, so when Ina made this on a recent episode I was excited to try it. I used an 11" deep dish. When I mixed the cranberries and chopped apples together, I thought the balance didn't look right, so I removed a quarter cup of the cranberries. The only other change I made was to use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream because I didn't have the latter. After it cooled a bit, I had a slice with whipped cream on top. I though the sourness of the cranberries was overwhelming and the end result is more like a cobbler than a cake. Considering the amount of work involved in making this (zesting the orange, peeling and cutting the apple, melting and cooling the butter, I don't think it was worth it. I had another piece the next day, and the tartness was subdued. Maybe it's better when it is cool.
I love Ina and her show, but I think her recipes have too much fat and sugar in them for a healthy eating lifestyle. This one certainly does.
