Ina, not only is this divinely delicious, but absolutely the easiest to fix. Sorry I can't say the same for retrieving the recipe. There are 2 ingredients missing on card 1 and 4 sentences missing on card 2 in the 3x 5 format. It sure is becoming quite challenging to print out these 3x5 cards. An aggravation to have to fill in the missing ingredients. So, most of the time I just don't bother with the recipe. Do any of you "out there" have this problem? Doesn't anyone ever edit these cards before they're posted on the food network? The chefs are very particular in the preparation and presentation of their many dishes. Please don't embarrass them with such poor quality control in the presentation of their recipes. Very frustrated grannymandy.

Outstanding........and the very first recipe from her new book "How Easy Is That"? that I made. Ina clearly comes through time after time. It was worth the 2+ hours I stood in line to greet her once again. And, both she and Barbara remembered me from the last book signing in San Francisco. Ina rocks..............

If I could give this recipe ten stars, I would. It's simply exceptional, just the way Ms. Garten wrote it (although I do admit to adding about 1/4 tsp. of freshly grated nutmeg and 1/8 tsp. ground cloves. One of my friends who tasted it - a foodie and one of the best cooks I know - told me she thought this was the best dessert she'd ever eaten.

Soooo delicious. My family just loved it. And it was so simple. For some strange reason, I could not find cranberries, fresh or frozen. I just used frozen cherries & apples. This is such an easy and tasty dessert - thanks Ina

i loved this cake. i reduced the cranberries to 9 oz and it was not too tart. next time i will eliminate the sugar/cinnamon mixture for the top of the cake, i don't think it is needed. i also cut the sugar to 3/4 cup for the cake batter and it was just perfect. it was easy and great tasting. try it!

Made this recipe and liked the way it tastes! One question remains: how many calories does it have in a serving of it? I ate 1/3 of a piece (it was in a 9 X 9 glass container the piece was about 1 1/2 inches by 2 inches. So, is that one serving? It was great!

I loved this recipe, it was fairly simple as Ina said it was. I will go with one of the reviews that said the filling was too tart. I would either add more orange juice as a counterpoint to the tartness of the apples and cranberries or use fewer of both. As an experiment, I substituted Ina's filling for cherry pie filling and then used her recipe for the batter and it turned out delicious.

I first made this last weekend right after it aired. I did tweak the recipe a bit, so that it wouldn't be quite so tart. I used about 1/3 bag of cranberries and 2 granny smith apples, and increased the brown sugar just a tad. Also substituted lemon zest/juice for the orange. The entire dish was gone within 2 hours. Just made it again per family request. I think the recipe is solid, but tweaking might be necessary for those wanting a slightly sweeter dessert.

Sounded better than it tasted. Mine didn't get cooked in the middle. I ate a few pieces, but it's been sitting in the fridge. I agree it needs more apple. I was going to add 2, but didn't. I think this would be better made in individual ramekins, to help cook faster, allow for small portions because of strong flavor and allow people to reheat individual servings in oven later. It reminds me of a buckle. I love cranberries, but might substitute nectarines and blueberries & keep my cranberries for scone making.

This recipe was fantastic! My family loved it. I don't think the cranberries are too tart as other reviewers stated. The cake is sweet and counterbalances the tartness of the cranberries. I am so glad I froze a couple bags of cranberries b/c I will definitely make this again!
