The sauce was terrible. I dumped it all out and started. I added less of the soy sauce, the chili paste, and the garlic and I did not add the scallions. I added about a cup or more of orange juice and Chinese 5 Spices that I had laying around. My family loved it and all the salmon was gone in minutes.

i found the crumb topping, with the strong flavors, overpowered the salmon. i would not make this recipe again. there are too many other good recipes where the salmon shines through anything that's been done to it, as it should.

This is my go to recipe salmon when I'm alone. I tend to like things a little salty so this was a really great recipe for me but my family didn't really like it at all because of the salt issue. If you just served it with the panko topping on the side as a relish or condiment though, I don't know why it'd be an issue.

I should have read the reviews. The marinade was so salty my family and I could not eat it. The panko was too thick and mushy. One cup of soy sauce? That's alot of sodium.

I should have listened to the other reviews- the panko topping was mushy and tangy. The salmon was fine without it, but there are much easier and tasty ways to make an Asian style salmon.

To address the “salty concerns” of this recipe, I suggest knowing your own pallet..
Like any recipe, adjustments to seasonings need to made to suit personal preferences (after 250+ rating averaging a "3" just shows that verdict on the success of this dish is very much mixed.
When I made this recipe I cut the salty ingredients (soy and fish sauce in HALF, substituting with broth to make up for lost volume, and utilized low-sodium options across the board.
The verdict was perfectly seasoned, moist, flavorful salmon that turned out to be a real crowd-pleaser. I will surely make it again.
No use for the abuse people, it’s rude and ignorant.

Very salty marinade. Tastes great once cooked into fish.

Very flavorful, but we too had to scrape most of the topping off because it was too salty. I will try again and exude or eliminate the fish sauce.

The previous reviews stating the saltiness of the dish were correct. Although I used low sodium soy sauce in the recipe, it was still to salty. I was very disappointed!
