    this recipe iss good and easy the sauce was enough for four so if u are making it for six might wanna put more liquids. When i tried that sauce by itself i didnt like it thought it was too sweet but with the black pepper crusting it was too good

    My husband and I made this together and it was a very simple, quick meal and had wonderful flavor. I suggest doubling the sauce, as it was the best.

    The flavor was wonderful and it was so easy. The cognac added a nice touch. I cooked it exactly as written and the steak was a perfect medium rare. I made it for our anniversary and we both felt like we were back in Paris.

    I don't know where to start. Let me first say, this was as soft as butter, almost didn't need the steak knives. The flavors in the sauce were spectacular, and I like the fact that heavy cream wasn't an ingredient in Ina's recipe. I had to alter it just a bit because I had 8 filets to prepare, so I used the heavy fry pan on the side burner of our grill, and then I finished on the grill, while all the filets were finishing on the grill, I was able to complete the sauce, and it all stayed warm. Thanks again Ina for yet another winner!!!!

    I love this recipe because it's quick and soo tasty. The brandy makes all the difference. I've been looking for a good steak sauce. I've made about 5 before this one. By far, this one is the best one yet, even better then our local french restaurant.
