My husband said it was the best meal I had ever made. The steak was
unbelievably juicy and he loved the frites with it. He can't wait
for me to make this wonderful meal again. Thanks Ina - love to watch
    your show!!!

Super delicious and easy! I served with rosemary orzo and seared garlic asparagus. Make sure you have a meat thermometer! I undercooked mine :/

LOVED this recipe! The sauce is really good but the extra salt in the reduced sauce makes it a little too salty. I recommend tasting the sauce before adding additional salt, especially if using regular beef broth. I will be making this again in a few days for my honey!

Great-but way too salty and when you get your butter to "almost smokin'" we found that you also get the fire department!!! Our alarm sounded forever before we got it shut off... we'll save this one for the grill... the grill on the patio that is!!!

I highly recommend this recipe. The sauce was sophisticated and delicious. This was a huge hit for a get-togeher last night. I dimmed the lights after adding the Cognac and ignited the fumes with a bbq lighter. Everyone "ooohed" and "aaahed". Note, I was wearing all natural clothing, had the lid and a fire-extinguisher handy, and I used a lighter with an extension designed to light bbqs. This can be dangerous.

I just made this for a get together and we all LOVED it! I've never cooked with cognac before, so I was a bit worried about the sauce, but it all came together fabulously! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We often order this dish at our favorite restaurant. I have to say, Ina's is better! We will be making it home more often.

Barefoot Contessa is my favorite for recipes! Most of the recipes I cook from food network come from the show. The filet of beef au Poivre is simple but you feel like you are eating a high priced meal at a fine restaurant!
