This cake was beautiful on TV in Ina's kitchen. I couldn't believe how beautifully it turned out in mine as well. The fruit makes it gorgeous. And delicous too! I don't know why some reviewers said it didn't turn out. This recipe was easy and perfect. I am never disappointed by any of Ina's recipes.

this cake is worth every pound of butter, every extra large egg and every pound of cream cheese. so delicious. my family found that the cake was amazing the first day, but surprisingly enough, EVEN BETTER, MORE MOIST AND OVERALL MORE DELICIOUS the next day! definitely worth all of the effort!

First off - this cake looked beautiful - my guests were quite impressed - but the taste - OMG - FANFREAKINGTASTIC - seriously one of the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted - and that's saying something. Ina's recipes never fail.

this was one of the best tasting cakes i have ever had. not only is it a show stopper but also a crowd pleaser. i made it for my bday on flag day and my guests were after me to cut it and dig in. i am making again for the 4th of july and i am going to add some lemon zest and juice which i think will bring out more of the berry flavor. THANK YOU INA!!!

This is not only a beautiful, star spangled cake, but it is one of the best tasting cakes I've ever fixed. If you're short on time but want to impress your guests, this is the cake for you.

This cake was a huge hit with everyone. I substituted strawberries for the raspberries because that suited our taste.

If I could give this six stars I would...I made this for 4th of July and the cake tasted even better than it looked. I didn't pipe the frosting in between the stripes because I didn't want to mess with a piping bag. It was honestly the best tasting cake I have ever had and it's kind of fun to say that you made a cake from scratch (or rather, not from a store-bought cake mix. I added more powered sugar to the frosting recipe as well-- it just seemed like it needed it. I now make it for lots of different events and decorate it accordingly-- I recently made it for a football party and decorated it with an "N" for NEBRASKA. Go Huskers!
