As written, this recipe was a little too sour for me.

If you want to transform the drink from a "whiskey SOUR" to a "WHISKEY sour", change the whiskey amount from 3/4 cup to 1 cup or even 1 1/4 cup.

Made these for New Year's. Very tasty, and better than the mixers I have purchased in the past. I had really juicy lemons, so those were no problem. I did nuke the limes for about 20 seconds, though. Careful, these go down real easy!

I haven't had a Whiskey Sour in YEARS but saw Ina make this drink on her show. It sounded so good; I was right, it was great. I bought a juicer because I will be making these for a long time to come.

Made these tonight after a rough day at work! Wow! Ina is right...so much different tasting than the mix used at most restaurants or establishments we frequent. Making them fresh is a little more expensive when citrus is high, but well worth it for the taste. Do take the time to look for thinner skin lemons and lime. Another winner Ina...another one of those times I would so love to be one of your neighbors! :

I saw these made on the show and I was intrigued. I made these last night and they were better than I had imagined. The flavors were perfectly balanced to make that perfect Homemade Whisley Sour!

I saw Ina prepare this and remember enjoying whiskey sours years ago. After reading the reviews, I decided to go for it. As some reviewers report, it is more SOUR than they'd prefer. That's true for me as well but the base recipe is very good. Per Martha Stewart's recipe, I added 1/2 cup of orange juice and increased the syrup by an additional 1/2 cup. I put the mixture in a blender with crushed ice and gave it a whirl....YUMMMMMM. It's still Sweet and Sour, just not such a discrepancy between the two.

Excellent recipe! The limes I used were not very juicy and it still came out great. I will definitely be making this for my next party.
