It takes all of us back to our youth and to leaner times when we would celebrate the end of a great summer day with a frozen iced box pie. It was always a little slice of heaven and a sure battle for the last slice.

I remember clearly the first time we made this for the family -- each one of my siblings present took one bite and immediately turned to each other, all with the same memory brought back to life.

Can't really rate this being I haven't made this yet BUT the rinds of key limes are very bitter which is most likely your pie was. I think (not positive that the rinds of regular limes are less bitter

Made this pie last night. It was bitter. I don't know what caused this. Does anyone know? I used key limes I bought at Whole Foods and it was laborious squeezing those little limes to get 2/3 cup plus getting 2T zest. I would not make this again. Perhaps it's easier to make with
regular limes. It got runny quickly, within minutes and had to be returned to the freezer quickly.

LOVE this pie. It is a summer staple at my shore house, I usually make it once a week! Everyone loves it. It is so easy to make and full-proof. Give it a try! Definitely let it freeze overnight, and be sure to return it to the freezer right after serving as it gets soft, FAST!

Note: Since key limes are hard to find, Ina uses regular limes.

Good pie. A bit sweet. I am wondering why the recipe did not specify key lime juice. It just says lime juice. For someone who has not eaten or made key lime pie before...this can make a big difference. Suggest Food Network correct the recipe.

this is delicious and easy to make. I found the recipe after having frozen key lime pie on vacation and wanted to replicate it. It came out perfect. I don't make it with the topping but simply have people add whipped cream if they wish when I serve it. IMPORTANT: Think of it as ice cream - serve it right out of the freezer - I cut pieces out of the pie dish, serve right away, and put the pie right back in the freezer. You can not leave this out for long it will get runny.

Just ok. Really easy to make but the constancy was not "key lime pie-esk" It turned soupy after being out of the freezer for 5 minutes.
