I used a 1 lb package of spinach for this and used a little less than half the salt the recipe called for (1 tsp. It was still too salty. Next time I make it (which I will I will start with 1/2 tsp and go from there.

Great side dish whenever you have spinach on hand. Delicious, quick and easy way to include some additional veggies.
After trying it a number of times I would recommend:
* Use only 1/2 to 3/4 tsp kosher salt and skip the salting at the end- can easily be very salty
* Skip the butter topping at the end - seems to distract from the dish
* Don't skip the lemon but don't overdo it either.
* Optionally, add red pepper flakes at the end for a kick
You can use any fresh spinach and it seems to work well. I chop the stems in about 1/2 to 3/4 inch pieces.

I made this recipe for my family and they all enjoyed it. I replaced the salt with worchester sause, added nutmeg and red peppers. Very easy and tasty.

I make this recipe all the time. I do add less salt and use Benecol instead of butter. The other thing that makes it great is to saute onions first until soft, then add the garlic etc. So good!

This recipe was great other than the salt. I used Maldon sea salt and it was way too salty. Next time I'll definitely try it with regular salt!

My husband and I ate the whole batch of spinach in one dinner. I thought we would have some left over, but it was so delicious we just kept eating it.
Another one of Ina's great recipes. Thanks.

I love sauteed spinach but never tried to make it myself until I stumbled across this recipe. So easy and so good. I loved the recipe as is but could reduce salt to 1 tsp. My husband raved and raved and said it was even better then the freshly prepared stuff I sometimes get an italian gourmet market. As stated it does cook down so I use one bag of spinach for every 2 people. Enjoy!
