These are fantastic! I added a 1/4 cup of panko bread crumbs when I sautéed the green beans, just until they were toasted. I made this as an accompaniment to her "Chicken with wild mushrooms" dish in "Foolproof." It's a very tasty pairing.

I saw this recipe on TV and as usual Ina didn't disapoint. We had the rose, pork chops, and green beans and it was all delicious! The green beans were very flavorful and had great texture. These will be another staple side dish for me.

Just made these for dinner and they were DELISH!! The lemon zest really made a difference so fresh tasting. When I saw Ina making these on her show yesterday, I knew I had to try them. Your the best Ina, I know I can always depend on you!

I had no doubt this would be very good. I mean, how can you go wrong if you use a great combination of fresh ingredients? Thank you Ina, although simple, I wouldn't have come up with this on my own. Hopefully I will be able to one day... I cooked mine more than 3 min, but i didn't use french green beens. I'm not sure what kind i had :- I made this with Ina's Chicken Piccata from her "Barefoot Contessa at Home" cookbook. By the way, a great book. Most recipes in the book are on this website I believe, but I love just going through the book and choosing a meal or a side dish. Oh, and of course, yummy desserts. Going back to the green beans, I was very happy with the way they turned out.

I roasted the green beans for this recipe instead of blanching and then sauteing, and tossed with the gremolata as soon as they came out of the oven. The roasting took about 25 minutes at 425. It made this recipe even easier than it was to begin with. I thought the gremolata was quite tasty, but it seemed like it needed a little acid, so next time I think I'll add a squirt of lemon juice at the end too.

This dish was one of the first recipes I tried from Foolproof and served it also on Christmas along with her mushroom and leek bread pudding. Our family loves green beans, notably haricots verts, so what's not to love here. These beans have a clean fresh taste due to the gremolta. One of the things I learned about Ina is that she only uses her own cookbooks. I have found that I keep going to her books also. This is a delicious twist to a basic vegetable!
