I only used sugar snaps and green beans which I blanced the day before Christmas then shocked in ice water. placed in plastic bags with paper towels overnight. Early in day I removed beans from fridge and sauteed shallots in the oil and butter and left the pan aside. 5 minutes before serving I heated the skillet with the cooked shallots and added the beans. It was wonderful. Veggies stayed sweet and crispy. Everyone enjoyed and as I did an entire Christmas dinner for 11 it was great to have a recipe that was done ahead and on the table in 5.

My husband who hates broccolli even liked this dish. I cooked all of the veggies in the morning, kept them fresh and covered in the fridge, then just heated up the butter and shallots at the last minute and warmed the veggies for 5 minutes. I will defanitely make again. Since the veggies are cooked "al dente", they also make great leftovers when reheated.

This recipe was so good that my husband wanted me to make it again the next night. I love that the vegetables can be cooked ahead and just heated up right before serving. Thanks, Ina!

I made this for Thanksgiving dinner. It was the first side to go. Everyone loved how crisp it remained and the taste of the shallots. I didn't use the broccolini. I sauteed plum tomatoes and sprinkled them on top along with toasted almond slivers. So good!!! Will absolutely make this again.

I could not find broccolini or sugar snap peas so I used asparagus, green beans, and broccoli. It was very good and quick which makes it great anytime of year even for a quick meal.

I have prepared this dish from one of Ina's cookbooks and that recipe called for green beans only and it is too die for. I can't wait to add all the other vegetables. The only thing, I cooked the shallots until it almost looked like bacon...that is how the other recipe read.
    Once again, your the best.

It was great but I would like more herbs to add taste. At Christmas time I would add somethig red like Swiss Chard &/or shredded carrots.
