I added a diced half jalapeno for a minor amount of heat.

Avacado + air = YUCK. To keep your guac from browning if you are making it in advance... When you make it, don't add the lime (I would never use lemon. Instead mix it like you normally would, put it in your storage container and drop it on the counter to try and get out any air pockets. Smooth the top will with the back of a spoon. Add the lime juice on top, then take some plastic wrap and starting in the middle, press it gently on the top easing out any air as you work it toward the edges of the container. Press the wrap on the edges of the container then put your top on it and refrigerate. It will be beautiful and green when you take it out, just stir in the lime juice and serve.

This recipe is ok. I opt for jalapeno instead of hot sauce and like many of the other reviewers, I add cilantro. Also I add a pinch of both cumin and chili powder.

What can I say? Short and sweet this recipe is. Couldn't taste the hot sauce I added, so I used one jalapeno. I also added celanro for that true Guacamole flavor.

Very good. I did not use tabasco as I don't care for it so I substituted a jalapeno. I might substitute the lemon juice for lime juice as someone suggested adn see if that makes it any better.

This is ok. I make mine with lime not lemon, a teaspoon or so of cumin powder, chopped cilantro, and 1 or 2 small chopped jalapeno peppers. I still add the onion and tomato. For a more authentic mexican flavor add lime, they do not use lemons for many things in Mexico

This was the first legit guac recipe I've ever used, I usually just throw the ingredients together by taste, but it came out great. I made some adjustments partially do to error, but it ended up tasting delicious anyway. I only had two avocados so I was going to cut everything in half, but forgot to do that with the hot sauce and garlic. To try and balance that mishap I used an entire medium tomato. It still came out tasting wonderful and I added some red pepper flakes to spice it up even more. As usual, another great recipe from the Barefoot Contessa!
