I made this tonight and served it to my family--who got up and made hot dogs. This dinner was a flop that was tossed in the bin. I am normally a HUGE Ina fan, but this one really missed the mark with my family. I thought certainly I had done something wrong (I hadn't seen the episode or the online video prior to making. Sure enough, I did everything nearly exactly like she did and mine was a grade-A flop. The pastry puffed and was a nice golden color, but it kind of looked and smelled like a giant hot pocket. I tried to stomach a few bites of mine since I went to the trouble of making it, but couldn't even eat it. Gag.

This is a good recipe, and it's easy to change it up. I have made it with a lot of different meat and cheeses, and sometimes I substitute ranch for the mustard. It's a good go to recipe.

Just finished making this for our lunch, and it was great! I used to stop at a bakery in the morning for a ham and cheese croissant, and this reminds me of that...very yummy! I didn't have measurements of my ham and cheese, I just used what I had, and it was terrific. I may have used less or more, I don't really know. It was rich and filling, and so it feeds a lot of people (more than I expected.

This recipe is so easy and really doesn't cost a whole lot, for those concerned about money. I truley believe that if you are going to cook, one should not, I repeat should not spare no expense on the excellant ingredients. In Virginia, Gruyere Cheese is only $7.99 for a cube so well worth it. My husband and boys ate it up and wanted more. My advice is if you are going to try this for the first time PLEASE do by double ingredients for your family will thoroughly injoy this one for not only a appitizer but for a main course.

This recipe was easy and it tasted great! The puff pastry turns a golden brown and when you bite into a square the combination of cheese with the ham tastes incredible. I would highly recommend this recipe and make sure you double up on the sandwiches because they will go fast!

I made this in school for my cooking exam. The only difference was that i used a combination of swiss and cream cheese since gruyere is pretty expensive here. I made it twice and it was perfect! Everyone loved it and some even made it at home.

Super easy, and very crowd-pleasing. I had rave reviews from all my brunch guests this morning. Only downside was that the top of the pastry got really dark quickly; had to turn off the oven and let the pastry sit for a bit to keep the top from burning. I only cooked it at 450 for about 15 - 20 minutes before turning off the oven. (Of course, I live in Albuquerque, NM, so I have the high-altitude issue to contend with when baking. I loved it and I would absolutely make it again and again.
