Having grown up and traditional bread stuffing, I wouldn't have thought to add apples, but it is a nice way to change up the classic without going too far overboard and upsetting teh family. It's easy as well.

This years was the first time I made Thanksgiving dinner for my family and it was a great success, thanks to Ina. I made the entire menu (minus the brussel sprouts and every thing was outstanding. The highlight, was of course the dessert, the Pumpkin Banana Mousse Tart. Thank you for inspiring me to cook!!

This stuffing recipe is great! The only thing I changed was I used sage instead of rosemary. I definately will make this recipe again for Thanksgiving!

Wonderfully simple to make, great flavor, and enticing eye-appeal. This is a very pleasing tribute to the holiday.

A step above Mamma's! Ina uses more herbs and a better quality of bread. The ratio of celery to onion is the same as is the stock. But the addition of apples and nuts (I like pecans being from Georgia! was perfect. The texture was nice too. Not mushy. When drippings from the turkey blended with the mixture, it was simply delicious. Ina is my FAVORITE!

I really liked this recipe! THe savory and sweet flovors really complemented each other. I altered the recipe a bit. I used half a round loaf each of sourdough & italian for the breadcrumbs and almost a full head of celery. I also added extra fresh flat-leaf parsley again right at the end of the saute. Excellent! FOr next time I will add one or two more apples and cut my bread cubes smaller.
