I typically only use onions as flavor base,, so I was slightly skeptical about making them the lead player. The dressng rocks. I watched this episode, and wedging the onions is easy. Just trim them very close to the root so they don't fall apart.

So awesome and tasty. The dressing rocks. It was really easy to fix. I was worried I wouldn't figure out how to wedge the onions but I did them perfectly and the wedges stayed intact during the roasting, spreading out to absorb the delicious dressing. Make sure to bake them long enough so that they caramelize and even let them get just a tad burnt on the edges. Good with any meat or fish!

Fan-freaking-tastic!! Such an original dish, you would never think that roasted onions could stand by themselves as a side dish without other vegetables. I have made the entire meal - which includes Ina's Chicken Piccata and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes - many times, and it is absolutely flawless. Talk about a Sunday dinner winner!

I love roasted veggies and this recipe is a keeper. Easy and a great side with the chicken picatta. I would make more dressing next time--very tasty...wanted more for the finished dish.

Great recipe - especially for a starch substitute. This was an excellent side for a mild fish and went well with green beans.

Did not make any changes to this recipe and thought it was great! Would also use the dressing on a salad, really tasty.

These are AMAZING! I do marinate the onions for 30 min before cooking and let sit in the remainder of marinade after cooiking until ready. These are great cold or warm and make great leftovers!

Very pleasing taste, I did add my secret ingredient that set it over the top! I prepared the recipe as stated and then with my surprise. My husband loved the variation, as I did.
