Another perfect Barefoot recipe. Sorry, only four stars because of the cost. Helpful hint there - - Costco has vanilla beans priced better than anyplace I've seen.

I made this recipe for my family on Christmas Eve and everyone loved it! Even my mother who doesn't like white chocolate said it was very good. I agree with emnaples about this being a pricey recipe. If you order your vanilla beans online instead of buying them in the grocery store you will save a bundle. Spicehouse website is a good place to buy them. Happy Holidays!

It's very simple to make and has complex flavors. It's very rich which some what limits how much you can drink.

I was so excited to serve this hot chocolate to my guests this holiday season. Though VERY expensive to make....it was totally worth it! The recipe makes a big batch and reheats nicely.
I used Green and Black organic chocolate (2 3.5 ounce bars and Ghiradelli white chocolate baking squares to make up the difference.
I would like to try this without the vanilla beans next time....to see if it makes a difference....because those were 12 dollars each.....who knew!
The Grand Marnier made a huge difference.
Definitely follow the recipe as Ina wrote it.....and then stash it away because its a keeper!

My complaint is the cost. Good white chocolate here (that I could find - 31% cocoa was $3.99 for a 2 ounce bar. That's $31.92 for a pound!!! (Other white chocolate at 4% cocoa was $9.99 a pound. Plus the vanilla beans and liqueur. But it was good. I used Amaretto and really liked the almond flavor.
