This is recipe was featured on a more recent show served with Latkes. The only difference between this recipe and Ina's other applesauce recipe which has a 5 star rating is that this one lists 1/4 pound (8 tablespoons unsalted butter while the recipe from 2007 lists only 4 tablespoons and also adds red apple peel.I stuck with the 2007 recipe using only 4 tablespoons butter and added a long red apple peel just set on the top of the apples for easy extraction and it came out perfect. The link for the recipe from this recent episode should really have been the other recipe.

Apple flavor was lost in the flavor of oranges. Did not work for me.
