Really an excellent recipe. I omitted the brown sugar and used only 1/2 cup honey (hoping for a bar that would be not-too-sweet, and these bars came out great! Didn't have apricots, so I used dried sweetened cranberries along with the dates. I've been keeping the individually wrapped bars in the freezer and they are storing perfectly so far.
Cut into 16 bars, I am coming up with the following nutritional analysis:
212 cal/bar, 9.5 GM fat, 4.5 GM sat fat, 29.6 GM carb, 4.4 GM fiber, 17.2 GM sugar, 4.3 GM protein

Very tasty! I used dried blueberries, strawberries and apricots because that was what I had (and I don't like dates, followed the rest as written; I think I will bake a bit less next time, as the edges got quite hard. You can really taste the honey! I will try with maple syrup next time.

Having read most of the reviews, I decided it was important to follow the recipe exactly as indicated, at least for the first time. I only made one mistake, which was to buy dried figs instead of dates. Oops! But the bars were delicious, and stayed together pretty well. Only slightly crumbly. I think next time I will follow the advice of the reader who suggested pureeing some of the oats and almonds. The flavor was fabulous, and my husband ate most if them in the first 24 hours! Ina did not disappoint, as usual!

These are fantastic! I omit dates and add chocolate chips. I bake for half the time as another reviewer suggested. Chewy texture and I haven't had trouble cutting. If you have trouble, cool completely and then refrigerate before cutting. I also add chopped dried apricots.

Great recipe! I made a lot of substitutions because I was missing things, but they came out excellent! I used 1 tablespoon butter and one tablespoon coconut oil, I used half honey and half maple syrup, I used shelled pumpkin seeds instead of coconut, and I used a pre-mixed dried fruit mix from market basket with dates and pineapple instead of raisins. I omitted brown sugar and they were plenty sweet enough with all the dried fruit. I also found out that it is VERY important to cool enough before slicing into bars, because I tried cutting them early and they were crumbly. I waited another 1/2 hour to cut the rest and they cut perfectly.

Very easy to make and very good! For the non-wheat peeps we used flax seed.

There is no wonder why everyone who trys this recipe, gives it the highest rating allowed! Easy to put together and a great combination of ingredients, for a healthy bar! They disappeared fast!

Delicious! Modified only slightly based on what I had in the house/what the kids like. Used flax seed instead of wheat germ and skipped the dates. I did add some white chocolate morsels (from the freezer to the cooled mix before putting into the pan. They are a little sweet, and will likely skip the brown sugar next time. They are amazing! Kids said they tasted better than KIND bars which are so expensive. I love that you can use this base recipe and adjust to your taste. My daughter who is an athlete has started being very conscience of what is in the food we eat and she is so happy there are no chemicals or preservatives in this! Super easy to make. I have a feeling I will be making a few batches each week

These are perfect & addicting. I couldn't believe how easy they were to make. I will never buy granola again. You can add or take out any nut or dried fruit you want. I didn't like the chocolate chips- too sweet for me. Follow the recipe through once at first then play around with it.
