These were very simple to make and they turned out wonderful! My family ate them up in no time. ! Just made my fourth batch...I have used all kinds of dried fruit in them as well as pecans and almonds. Today I even tried it with no fruit and some choc. chips. So, so good! Thanks Ina!

I have made these twice, substituting my home grown dried figs for the cranberries. I followed this recipe exactly, the flavor is awesome, my issue is I can't get them to stay together as a bar, when I turn these out I have granola instead of bars, any ideas? I did pat them down in pan before baking. I would love to know if there is something I can do different to make them stick together for a bar.
Thank you. Love you Ina, you are my foodie hero !

I had so much hope for these granola bars. They smelled delicious and then Ina disappointed me. She said that if I flip these out of the pan then they will stick together and be in perfect harmony. WELL THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. NOT AT ALL. NOT ONE BIT. THEY FELL APART. APART. APART. DISAPPOINTMENT IS OOZING OUT OF ME RIGHT NOW. IM SO SERIOUS. I'M SO ANGRY AT INA. SHE DISAPPOINTED ME. GOD DARNIT. RAWR.

Delicious, chewy, flavorful, healthy and easy!! Need I say more?
Update: There is more to say. I made these a second time using a combination of dried and fresh fruit, but omitted the almonds and coconut. (The kids wouldn't eat them. These were so delicious. My daughter couldn't get enough! She reaches for these instead of junk food!! Thanks, Ina!!!

Excellent, and so easy! Like many of the others, I got creative with the ingredients leaving out the coconut, apricots and dates and substituting blueberries, mixed berries & pecans. It hit the spot - my family couldn't wait for them to cool so they could eat them!

Best granola bar recipe I've tried so far! I've made them twice now--the first time exactly as written and the second time I tried doing 1/2 cup of honey and 1/2 cup of applesauce to replace the brown sugar and the texture wasn't as nice--less crunchy--but still tasty.

Oh my goodness! This recipe is awesome! I made a few modifications due to my hubby's diet. He had open heart surgery and I need to watch fat, among other things. We also watch our sugar. I decreased the honey to 1/3 cup, added 1/3 cup of all natural peanut butter, substituted splenda brown sugar for the brown sugar, used smart balance stick butter, lower sodium salt, and Craisins for the fruit. Absolutely delicious! Can't wait to make it again and try more fruits. Thanks Ina! I LOVE your show and your recipes. Keep them comin . . .

I added dried mixed berries (no apricots and left out the wheat germ, and it was pretty cost effective. My bars didn't slice well and very much fell apart into granola chunks (more honey next time? yum!. It was a very tasty recipe!
