I SAW THE EPISODE WHERE SHE MADE THESE, VERY SIMPLE, AND LOOKED YUMMY. I WANTED TO MAKE THEM FOR X-MAS GIFTS, BUT MINE CRUMBLED. FOLLOWED THE RECIPE EXACTLY, EXCEPT SUB'D THE COCONUT FOR SUNFLOWER SEEDS-
    WHAT DID I DO WRONG?
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO TAKE MY 'CRUMBLES' AND MAKE INTO A 'BAR'?

I love these bars. I can adapt the recipe to what I have on hand using the "bones" of the recipe to create something new each time. They make a great healthy treat to take instead of the old standby brownie and I get compliments every time. Thanks, Ina!!

I've never tried a recipe of Ina's that's disappointed me, and this is no exception. Everyone I've given these to you has asked for the recipe. I had a little trouble once or twice with them falling apart, too, but then cut more carefully with a serrated knife and they were fine.

I followed the recipe to the letter. Was concerned about others stating when cutting bars they fell apart. Well, about 50% of mine fell apart to be used for morning cereal. If I had to purchase all the ingredients, this would have been an expensive "failure" Toss this one. Sorry Contessa, maybe we need more advice.

the bars are the greatest and so easy to make. They look so appetizing on a tray and are very tasty. They are our new snack. Ina I have tried so many of your recipes and I can honestly say they have never disappointed me, my family or friends. Thanks you very much Ina.

These were the most delicious granola bars I have ever had. I am a fitness nut and these bars have so many great ingredients for active athletes. I substitute the Splenda Blend Brown sugar for the regular brown sugar and use all organic ingredients. These were a huge hit with my coworkers and my cycling group!

I am on weight watchers and would like to knwo if anybody knows what the:

    Fiber grams
    calories
    total fat grams

so I can calculate how many points I am consuming would be great.

This recipe is tasty and delicious. However, I've made them 3 times and the granola doesn't stick together enough to cut into bars......we ultimately end up eating just granola out of a plastic bag! I've read some of the other reviews and found out that I may be boiling the sugars too long. I'll try to adjust the cooking method next time!

My family and I are the outdoors type. We live in Montana. I make these for them and they can not get enough of them. I like to change the recipe around myself for variety. So I was reading the reviews to get some more ideas. It seems to me that some are wondering why their bars are falling apart. I think that they are boiling the wet ingredence too long. When you do that the sugar in the honey and brown sugar will crystalize when it cools. I slowly heat it. When I see it start to boli, I let it cook for no more than a minute. I hope this was helpful.

I have made these as is a few times and I think they are fantastic! I just started playing around with some variations. Tried walnut, dried cherries and dark chocolate chunks (added a cup of each and the flavors are great. A lot less sweet of course but pretty good. This is a great recipe to play around with!
