    Really tasty recipe! I'm vegetarian so I had to modify it a little bit by using vegetable broth instead of turkey drippings. I also added a tiny bit of veggie bouillon for extra flavor. Came out very good, considering the lack of turkey goodness!

    Finally I have found a gravy recipe which (1 WORKS, and (2 MAKES ENOUGH! I have always been "gravy challenged" and never had much luck, but with my turkey juices in the bottom of the roasting pan and the ingredients from this recipe, I made perfect gravy for once in my life! I couldn't believe the amount of gravy this recipe makes - lots for everyone. Thank you so much, Ina! I look forward to making this gravy every holiday. We even have enough to enjoy with leftovers.

    I found this recipe and decided to use it for Thanksgiving this year (my first time hosting. I have never had so many compliments! People were bending over backwards to tell me that this was "THE BEST" gravy they have EVER had!!!!! I would have to agree! It is insnely delicious! Yum, Yum, Y-U-M!!!!! And it was pretty easy. Tip: I bought one of those little trial size brandy bottles b/c we don't drink it and I didn't want to purchase a whole bottle. I used all the ingrediants and it came out perfect :

    AWESOME! I have never made homemade gravy and it was pretty easy. I didn't use the cognac/brandy, and it tasted a little salty without it, but then I added in the white wine and that cut the saltiness perfectly. It was REALLY good. If you aren't going to use the wine/cognac/brandy, taste before you add any salt. Also- make sure your guests like onions. I'm a big fan and my friend is as well, so we loved it, but I can see people who don't like onions not liking this. Will make it every year from now on!!

    this is a fantastic recipe. it's the best gravy I have ever made. the recipe must be foolproof because I have made a lot of lumpy gravy in the past!
