Just made this bread and it turned out beautifully. It rose really well and the dough was a breeze to work with. For those of you that had problems, try using an instant read thermometer on the water and the milk before adding it. If you liquids are too or too cold your bread will not turn out. Since I have been testing my liquids I never have a mishap.

I made this and it turned out perfect- just sent the recipe to my sister. My husband loved it also. Some people just have bad luck baking any bread and that is unfortunate. Don't give up and make sure your yeast is fresh and your temperatures are accurate.

I just made this bread and it turned out awesome! Let the yeast sit until it is nice and frothy and make sure that you knead your bread. Also, let the dough sit. I usually warm up a tea towel in the microwave for 40 seconds and I let the dough rest. This was an excellent recipe and I would make this again. :-

I'm not sure if the one star is for me or Ina. Followed the recipe completely.............bread never did any rising. It is now in the oven...maybe I can use what does bake for a crouton base. :((

I bake bread every other day, but I thought I would try Ina's recipe for the Honey White. It went over so well with my family that it is now going to be baked all the time. Thank you Ina for a great recipe.

This is the first time I have made this bread recipe, and I have to say it is wonderful. I made two loaves plus some sesame rolls. Makes great toast. Don't know why other people had trouble with this. My dough just kept on rising, and didn't deflate when I put on the egg white wash. Don't press too hard with the pastry brush, and make sure the yeast is absolutely fresh and the water not too hot.

I watched this episode and made the bread exactly as directed. The rise was fine, the crumb looked great after baking. Only problem: it tasted just awful! Or maybe I should say, it had no taste except salt. No yeasty, bready, goodness. Just salt.

This bread is among the best I have baked and tried! Dough rised properly. I got 2 good size loafs, my family loved it. I would like to try the recipe with a mix of whole wheat flour and all purpose. Any tips? Thanks Ina

I know my way around the kitchen VERY well and followed this recipe to a "T". The first batch didn't rise, so I knew something was wrong with the yeast and threw out the dough. I tried it a second time and got much better results, UNTIL I painted the top with the egg white. The bread "fell" and never rose or puffed up in the oven. The bread came out very, very dense and flat. I'm not blaming the recipe as I love Ina and everything she makes. I'll have to try it again.....there's too many wonderful reviews to let this one go and not give it another shot.
