I never liked hummus before I tried tis recipe. It is the best hummus ever! It's a healthy snack if you serve it with whole wheat pita. I sliced my pita into triangles and drizzled them with olive oil salt and pepper and baked them at 400 for ten minutes. The pita gets hard and crusty and that goes even better with the hummus!

First time making hummus from scratch. Very fresh tasting and quite tangy. Garlic though is VERY overpowering. Probably could cut down on garlic if you not a huge fan. This is better than what you buy in the store but a bit to garlicky for my taste.

I didn't have enough chickpeas, so I used a can of cannellini beans also and it turned out very very good. Delish with whole wheat pita slices brushed with garlic infused EVOO.

This was so easy to make, plus you can use any flavors you want! I add a roasted red pepper for kick.

I thought the hummus tasted delicious and very authentic [it reminded me of the hummmus a local cafe in Istanbul served when I was studying abroad]. I also liked the fact that there was no olive oil, which in my opinion is just used in hummus as a filler and doesn't give much filler. As to the comment about the absence of oil, tahini i basic ground sesame seeds swimming in sesame oil, so you have all the oil you need. I'll definitely always have this on hand, it goes great on everything from sandwiches to pita chips to hamburgers [try hummus, goat cheese, and thinly sliced cucumber on your hamburger and use a toasted pita as the bun, you'll love it]. =]

I found the initial taste to be way overpowering in terms of garlic, tahin and lemon, so I amended the recipe to 2 cans of chick peas instead of 2 cups, and added more reserved chickpea liquid. Then it was more to my liking. the recipe was pretty good, though

This recipe, unfortunately, was very very heavy on the garlic - I felt that four cloves really overpowered the elegance of the the other ingredients.
