This bread was very good. The only problem I had was it was so sticky and I made a huge mess. I couldn't even cut the lines into it. But over all very good.

I tried many a soda bread recipe...this one is the best. My family and I like the taste of caraway seeds so I added 1 tablespoon to the recipe, yum!!! We enjoyed the soda bread toasted with butter and a hot cup of tea. Will make this again, and not just for St. Patrick's Day.

I've been making Irish Soda bread for quite a long time but couldn't find my tired and true recipe. What to do? Food Network, of course. I divided the dough into two smaller loaves and baked them for 40 minutes before testing them. They were just about perfect, but if you try this, make . sure you test the loaves before removing them from the oven. The loaves were a nice consistency and only slightly on the sweet side. The orange zest was a nice touch. They were great the next day to as toast. So, I've decided that even if I do find my old recipe, this version will now be the one that my family enjoys each St. Patrick's Day.

Came out "Perfect" watch video as Ina shows you how easy it is to make. If I didn't see the video I may have not tried this recipe. Bread was so pretty I didn't want to cut into it. Flawless bread you can't go wrong! I made it for St. Patricks Day! I also made the Cranberry Orange Scones. Both recipes were 100% Delicious and easy!

Very good and super easy. Terrific flavor and very sweet!! The only reason that I am not giving it five stars is because I thought the loaf was a bit overgrown and a bit lumpy looking. Next time I make this I will knead it a bit more. Other than that, the bread was terrific!

Easy and delicious. I typically don't make bread, it's too complicated, but there was nothing too this. My mixer didn't combine all of the flour into the dough so I added a dash more buttermilk and that fixed the problem. It was beautiful when it came out of the oven, very bakery like. I didn't have currants so I just left them out and included more orange zest.

Absloutely loved this. I was a bit concerned that it was going to be too heavy and cloying but everyone loved it. It really complimented our beautiful irish meal -- hearty irish lamb stew with mashed potatoes, champ, the irish soda bread and to finish everything off; a decadent chocolate irish whisky cake. The kids made honey cookies and decorated them with shamrocks. Yum. Thanks to Ina for this brilliant and oh so easy recipe!

I am the WORST baker in the world!! Seriously, I screw up those pre-made cookies at the store, the ones that are precut and everything--fool proof? no, not for me! So why I even tried to be adventerous and bake this bread, I will never know. BUT I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! It is one of the only things I baked that turned out perfectly, and on the first try. Thanks Ina--you made me a little more confident in the baking zone. FYI, it is very sticky...flour your hands and read the part where it says WELL FLOURED board...like LOTS. I am glad she wrote it would be VERY wet because otherwise I would have tossed it. Glad I didn't. SO beautiful!!! If you are not a baker, this is a bread for you! perfect for St. Patty's day!!!

We made this in my culinary class last week and I couldn't believe how easy it was. My partner and I made it into four smaller loaves and served it with orange butter (butter with some orange zest and sugar and it was fantastic! I'm going to be making it again for my family tonight :

THIS RECIPE WAS SO EASY AND DELICIOUS. I MADE THIS ON ST. PATRICKS DAY WITH CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE. THE ONLY CHANGES I MADE WAS TO INCREASE THE BUTTER TO 6 TBL. AND I USED DRIED CHERRIES. I WILL MAKE THIS AGAIN.
