WOW!!!! The BEST soda bread I have ever made. HUGE hit with the family. I make soda bread every St. Patrick's Day and Ina's will now be our family tradition. This bread was delicious! Hard to stop eating!!!

I don't know what I could have done wrong?? The bread tasted more like a biscuit. Followed the recipe exact. kneeded the dough, it baked beautifully. However, very bland....

I am a seasoned baker and make bread frequently. I made this bread per the instructions. It was so sticky and goopy. I added more flour and put it in the oven. It proceeded to spread out and drip all over the oven. What could I have done wrong?

I just made this bread for the second time. It turned our great both times. The dough is a little wet but just kneeded it with a little flour. This time I used lemon zest and craisins and it turned out as good as with the orange. Thanks Ina you are the best cook on tv I think. Love your recipes

The bread is very easy to make using the Kitchen Aid.I followed the recipe exactly and have two faults with the ingredients. First, there was too much liquid. When the entire 1 3/4 cups of buttermilk was added, the result was very much like thick goop! I bake every week for my family and thus think I know the difference between wet dough versus what I call goop, something you can spoon. I added about another cup of flour so that the dough can be worked. The additional cup naturally created an imbalance with the other ingredients. I should have added more sugar and some salt. The resulting bread was fragrant but not as sweet as I would like, my husband agreesbut said butter would surely help the flavor!
In the end, I will make this bread again, but use maybe 1 1/4 c of buttermilk instead.

Just made it, followed recipe exactly. Came out very nice. The dough was too sticky to kneed. I think I will try it with caraway seeds next time!

I noticed the video says 1/4 cup sugar but the recipe printed says 4 T. sugar. I am about to bake this and will go with 1/4 cup sugar. Wonder if anyone used 1/4 cup. I'm sure this will be good. You can never miss with Ina's recipes.
