I have never gone wrong with any of the contessa's receipes. This soup is GREAT!! I was home recoverying from an illness and I could not tolerate another cup of canned soup or restaurant soup for that matter. I just happened to catch Ina's 40th Wedding anniversary dinner-and she made this wonderful soup. (By the way-it's so refreshing to see a couple that really love each other....You go girl!

Awesome, I did not think this was a light soup, I thought it was hearty, especially the next day when the star pasta puffed up even more. Used panko bread crumbs and thought the meatballs could be served on their own at my next cocktail party. Used kitchen basic chicken stock (didn't have time to make homemade and used a bag of spinach that I rinsed and chopped up. Thought the dill added a nice homemade flavor but not overpowering at all. Served this soup for dinner with a grilled Swiss cheese sandwich on 9 whole grain bread.

A big hit at my house! I tried to follow the recipe almost exactly. However, my grocery store was limited on meat choices, so I got ground turkey and Italian Pork sausage. The meatballs turned out great. I will try the meatballs according to the recipe when I can get the right ingredients. I love the dill and the spinach. I will use all of the ingredients according to Ina's recipe again. So delicious.

Amazing! This is one of the best soups that i have ever had! My boyfriends really picky and told me not to put too much spinach in it. But after it was finished cooking and ready to eat and after he tasted it he decided next time i should put more pasta and spinach in it! Awesome job!

Delicious! I generally don't like dill, but I thought it really gave this soup that extra boost of flavor. Also, I read the reviews beforehand and I also put the meatballs in the oven for 15 minutes in my convection oven, and it was perfect!

I love this soup but I had to make a couple of changes. I'm of southern Italian heritage and dill was never used in anything my grandmothers cooked so I left it out. I added a couple of small chopped tomatoes to brighten the flavor. The last thing was a substitution. I could not get escarole, which is my first choice of greens for this and is more authentic, so I used red chard which was acceptable. If it wasn't for the dill I would have given this 5 stars.
