I made these and other cookies for friends last year for Christmas and these were by far the favorite. I'll be baking a couple of batches again this year for sure.

I changed the recipe a bit. I used 1 1/2 cup sugar and only 3 cups flour and it was perfect. It helps to only bake one cookie sheet at a time because the top sheet burned the coconut when I put both sheets in at the same time. Otherwise, they looked awesome and tasted incredible.

I made these last year for Xmas and they were a big hit! They are easy, delicious and beautiful! I will make them again for the holidays and give as gifts. I have been looking forward to making them again all year long...oh and eating them too!

This recipe is a huge hit for holiday gifts as Ida gives out every year. This recipe is so delicious, easy, and yields soooo many cookies that I make them for our baking fundraisers every year. So delicate and lightly sweet!
    Try it!!

I followed the recipe and the dough was so crumbly I had to keep adding butter and sugar the first time. Those who ate them raved so I tried again, slowing down on the flour since that seemed the problem the first time. With only two cups of flour the dough was still so crumbly that I had to add another 4 T. of butter. They are still chilling. . .my advice is add butter slowly. It is much like shortbread, if you enjoy that then this could be good for you.

Followed the recipe to the letter when preparing. After all that work, the end result was that the cookies looked like the cookies in the picture. The cookies were mushy in the middle and the taste was not sweet. Maybe more sugar in needed in the recipe.

These cookies look pretty on the platter and are yummy tasting. I made several different cookies and these are my favorites. Maybe its the coconut...?
