I have made this recipe many many times and everyone just loves it for some reason the dough doesn't come together well so i end up adding a liquid, more vanilla, lemon extract, just some little amount to make it come together.

I don't know what I did wrong on this receipe. I read the reviews and was anxious to try them. I don't have a mixer with a paddle but I used my electric mixer. The taste was bland, and very "floury" tasting. Not sweet at all. I read and re-read the instructions several times but didn't see anything I did wrong. We ended up throwing them all away!!!!!!!

These turned out better than expected, especially since the dough seemed quite dry. I couldn't even roll it out, too crumbly. I just squished it in a ball and popped it in the fridge. I used a melon baller which worked great.I also added a spoonful of Godiva liquor to the egg mixture before rolling in the coconut. Yum! I will make this again!

I decrease flour amount to 3 cups and increased vanilla to 2 tsp, based on reviewers comments. Extra vanilla was a good idea, decreasing flour was not. My dough came together easily with my cheap, old hand mixer. Chilled it overnight and had no problem shaping it straight from the fridge. the only problem came in baking - the cookies spread a little too much, I suspect because of the decrease in flour. They still tasting great, just didn't look as pretty. Also, I used an insulated cookie sheet and had no problem with the coconut burning. I did take them out after only about 19-20 min. Overall really good taste, but I reserve 5 stars for absolutly spectacular recipes - can't say that about these (but close

I've been making these now for about 3 years. They are the best cookie! My coworkers RAVE and beg for me to make more. Big hit with the family too!

My next step - i want to replace the jam with chocolate..see how that works.

These cookies are really wonderful and very pretty. I used salted butter and omitted the salt in the recipe.

The best cookie ever. My 13 year old picky daughter loved them. Did not change a thing (which is unlike me. Would make many times again.

I am not a big fan of cookies that have preserves or jams on them. As my husband was baking cookies for his employees at work, I gave him this recipe to make because it was easy and would help him fill up the plates quickly. Well, I tried one fresh out of the oven and then tried another one after it had cooled down. I would have tried a few more but had to stop or therre wouldn't have been enough for the gifts! These cookies were fantastic! I've asked my husband to make more for us this week and for Christmas, we'll bake another batch for the family. I just bought a jar of fig preserves and will have him make a few with this. The sky's the limit on what flavors you can use. Thank you Ina!
