These thumbprints were outstanding! The dough was a little crumbly when I took it out of the mixer at first, but it eventually came together after a little kneading/mixing on the counter and sitting in the fridge. I am throwing away my old thumbprint recipe - this one's the best!

Very buttery and rich and much easier to prepare than the rich taste would lead you to believe.

This is a great recipe. It's a butter cookie with a coconut twist. My issue, and I'm not a noveice baker, is that the dough does come out a teensy bit dry. I'm going to cut back on the flour just s tad. Make sure you're not packing the flour down as you measure. Maybe use 3 1/4 cups of flour instead of 3 1/2. That should help. This'll be in my Holiday cookie line up next year for sure. OH...when I finish off the dough, I may add some green food color to the coconut so they look like lttle wreaths. I'm a baking GENIUS!

I love making recipes from Ina Garten. When I saw her make these on her TV show I knew they would be added to my Christmas cookie collection. They end product didn't disappoint me, they are delicious. A nice new twist on the traditional thumbprint. I'm thankful I made a double batch.

These have to be the best cookies I've ever made! They come out perfect everytime! I love to put them in the plastic gift bags the way Ina does. These are such yummy treats!

Didn't like these at all! They looked pretty but they were quite tasteless (with the exception of the jam in them.It upset me as it uses 3 sticks of unsalted butter which was wasted. It did make alot but that doesn't help when they have no taste!

I was skeptical after making the dough. It was very crumbly and I just didn't see how these cookies would be edible. However, after chilling I just worked them in my hands a little at a time until the dough came together and formed them into little balls. It might have helped to add less flour or more butter, but my cookies turned out great. Don't worry if they crack a little when you press down. Most of mine stayed together after baking.

I think these are a little time consuming, but very well worth it. I however used homemade marion berry jam, and it "bled" I also used homemade strawberry jam for the xmas festive look. Next time, I'm going to put some chocolate chips in the indentation, just something else to try...

This is the best cookie recipe I have ever made...vanilla, coconut and fruity jam...the best combination of flavors! The coconut browns to perfection and is crunchy and not too sweet. I can't stop eating them..and for sure they are a great gift for the holidays. Double your batch!
