These cookies are GREAT!!! But the recipe online is wrong!!! I first saw the recipe on Ina's show and then I made the cookies!! They were so dry. I knew I didn't do anything wrong so I went back and watched the show again and checked the recipe and the butter amount is wrong on the recipe. The written out recipe calls for 2 1/2 sticks of butter, it should be 4 1/2 sticks!! I was so bummed when I made the cookies the first time b/c the whole batch was very dry and that was a lot of ORGANIC INGRIEDENTS that went to waste!!

Anyway, I made them again witht the right amount of butter and they were great!!:

I made them for a brunch and everyone wanted the recipe. One of the members of the group can't have nuts, so I divided the recipe in half and substituded raisins for the nuts in that half, and it was really good. I have also made them with Heath bits. Again a winner. They freeze well and they stay chrispy even after several days

I made a couple substitutions: 1. I didn't have dutch processed cocoa, just basic Hershey's cocoa (in the brown container with the yellow label, and 2. Peanut butter chips instead of cherries and almonds. Oh, and I also added a teaspoon of chocolate extract. The cookies were very tasty, but a bit dry for my taste, I prefer my cookies to be more chewy or moist, these are more dry and a little crumbly. The next time I make these (there will definitely be a next time! I'll add an extra egg or just an egg yolk. My recipe yielded 50 cookies, using my 2 TBSP disher. Definitely try these, they are very, very good, and have gotten nothing but rave reviews.

I halved the recipe because I didn't want 52 cookies! But with half the mixture, I only got 16 cookies. Great chocolaty recipe - they were a hit at a BBQ I made them for; they were gone in minutes! Yum.

Wow...Wow...Wow! Got a a chocolate craving? Love nuts? Bake these! Def. one of the best cookies I have ever had....it's hard to eat just one or two or three....I do agree with the other reviews...I don't think it would hurt to add a bit more butter...an additional half stick would be just fine so that the cookies would spread a bit more while baking. I adhered to the original recipe and used 2 1/2 sticks and the dough was very dry and it was hard to scoop out like that. They turned out wonderful though. Experiment if you like but I think this recipe is perfect just the way it is! Thank you Ina for sharing! (btw...I don't understand why several people have jumped on Ina for that Make A Wish thing...if you don't know the circumstances, you shouldn't judge. Ina seems to me like a lovely person.

These cookies are AMAZINGLY GOOD!!! I gave the recipe 4 stars only because I followed other commenters' suggestions and used 3 sticks of butter, I'm sure if I had only used 2 1/2 they would not have turned out as well. But everything else I followed exactly and they are incredible! So deep dark brown and chocolatey. I used dutch process cocoa because it has a much darker color (and probably deeper flavor as well, and I would definitely recommend everybody do the same! This is now my go-to double (or triple really chocolate cookie! LOVE!

I have changed my mind about this recipe! Before, I found it good but not great. This time I took a trick from Ina's book and added 1 teaspoon of espresso powder [via instant espresso from Starbucks] along with the flour. It brought out the dark chocolate flavor and now I sigh when I eat them!

These cookies are AMAZING! My husband is allergic to eggs so I substituted 1/4 cup of Applesauce for the egg. Also, we hate white chocolate so I used a combination of Semi-Sweet and Milk Chocolate chips. They are amazing and even convereted my best friend who normally hates cookies into a cookie lover! Will make over and over again.
