    I can't tell you how glad I am that I found this simple chicken recipe. It was very easy to follow. The chicken turns out moist beyond belief. The bacon and lemon together take this chicken to the next level. Your guests will be in line for more!!

    We LOVE this chicken dish. Ina's roast chicken recipes are AMAZING!!!!!

    I think this is a variation of her classic "Perfect Roast Chicken" dish which is a family favorite, or should I say THE family favorite. Adding the bacon and the white wine to the roasted chicken just takes it to another level of delish. The chicken is so moist and flavorful.

    I love digging my fork into a slice of roasted chicken and spooning some of that yummy gravy over it. Thank you Ina for an incredible recipe!!

    I've made what I thought were yummy roasted chickens before but none of them compare to this one. Wow! I doubled the recipe with two chickens and I'm so glad I did because we'll love the leftovers. I only placed the lemons and garlic on the inside of the chickens and layed them in my roasting pan on a bed of celery.I think the bacon is the secret weapon. I didn't see this on TV so I'm not sure exactly how Ina did everything, but I used thick cut bacon and continued to keep a close eye on it during the first hour. It was looking a little crisp after 45 minutes so I actually flipped it over to continue roasting and then ended up taking it out shy of 1 hour. The chickens came out incredibly delish and moist. I varied from the recipe on the gravy but I did include white wine and it turned out devine. Teamed up with mashed potatoes and side of peas and it was a hit with the family. Thanks again Ina for another great chicken recipe.

    We get so many compliments EVERY time we serve this chicken.. and it is so simple to make. If you have the option to use bacon that is a little thicker, that seems to work better. When we are out of thyme, we stuff the chicken with rosemary instead, or leave herbs out, and it's still a great flavor with just the garlic and lemons infusing all the meat. If we haven't devoured the entire chicken at dinner, it makes great sandwiches the next day, and amazing cold chicken salad after that! Thank you, Ina!
